“The edge of the sea is a strange and beautiful place.”

Rachel Carson

Helen and I went for a walk along the seawall
one evening

Where we saw some of the birds we often
see there the Cormorant and the Song Sparrow.

But you are never far from the forest
and the mythagos it shelters.

Then evening and ships on the bay.

We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more
mystical concept of animals. In a world older and
more complete than ours they move finished and complete,
gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never
attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are
not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations,
caught with ourselves in the net of life and time,
fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth.

What a sight to see! Love the last shot as well. what a nice place to walk! When will you write another poem? I have a bunch up on my Poet Tree blog. I am participating in the NaPoWriMO's challenge to write 30 poems in 30 days! Lots of fun!

So sorry to hear that you fell. I do hope all is mending well.

Hi Kathie

I will have to stop by your poetry page. I have been writing some poems but not posting them. I have actually tried submitting some to magazines since they
say they cannot have appeared anywhere else I have been reluctant to post them. I think I am finally over all my bumps and bruises.

Thanks for your comments.
