Saturday we went to the Calgary Zoo so I could take some
photos. I will be posting various shots for the next week or
so.

“I come down to the water to cool my eyes.
But everywhere I look I see fire; that which isn't
flint is tinder, and the whole world sparks and flames.”

Midge, an old friend of yours.

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

I have been a Blake fan, although I'm not sure that is possible these days. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Hi Gary

I have to say I think The Tyger, Tyger Tyger Burning Bright In the Forests of the Night was one of the first lines of poetry I really learned as a child although parts of High Flight also spring to mind.

Hi to Boomer.

Wonderful portraits of these handsome zoo creatures! The tiger photograph is just out of this world. Terrific work!

What wondrous creature share our world! You have captured their images so well. Love the Blake poem and the other quote as well. I know the Tyger poem but have never heard the other.

Hi Kathie

Yes there are so many beautiful animals trapped in such a narrowing world it is good to have the chance to see them and experience what wonder they bring to the earth, what strength and power they represent.

Thanks
