That is indeed an Eastern Grey Squirrel...Hi Kathie

That is indeed an Eastern Grey Squirrel Sciurus carolinensis according to Mammals of Alberta " In Alberta, this large tree squirrel is mainly black" I know most squirrels I see in Calgary are black. We have been in this house 18 years when we moved in they were all black. Over the last few years grey squirrels with buff tummies have appeared. Currently at least two black and one grey visit regularly.

All the best.
GuyGuyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12546069846136464138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1137553668555203001.post-9339469568317623422011-09-22T08:34:25.195-06:002011-09-22T08:34:25.195-06:00We have a similar cast of characters in our yards!...We have a similar cast of characters in our yards! You could see the house finch, the house sparrow, and the nuthatch all here as well! Though, is that a gray squirrel? It looks awfully black to me, yet not quite an Abert's.Kathie Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10377224759599266209noreply@blogger.com
